Subtitles Only — high-precision subtitles without Auto Edit

v1.3 Phase 1. A new top-level utility creates a Gladia subtitle SRT from your active sequence without running the Auto Edit pipeline. Pro users with a Gladia BYOK key are exempt from monthly usage consumption.

Cleaner subtitle output

Auto Edit now produces a single, naturally-formatted subtitle SRT for the output sequence — punctuation tidied, line breaks at natural boundaries, no awkward word splits. Drag it once onto the Auto Edit output and you're done.

Improved Japanese subtitle readability

Japanese subtitles now look more like proper viewer-facing captions. Lines that fit on one line stay on one line when possible; longer subtitles break at more natural semantic boundaries; awkward breaks in the middle of common endings (です / ます / と思います) and around particles are reduced.

Restore previous Auto Edit results in the web app

The web app can now restore the previous Auto Edit result even if it was opened after the edit finished. Nodes, timeline data, and subtitle information are easier to review later. Auto Edit subtitle output also got a readability pass for cleaner viewer-facing captions.

Improved billing and rerun stability

Improved checkout stability so subscribed users are less likely to start an unintended duplicate purchase. Billing notifications are also handled more safely when events are retried. Auto Edit re-runs on the same material reuse the previous transcription more reliably, so the second run completes faster.

Improved Timelapse mode and subtitle workflow

Improved Timelapse mode so users can watch the edit being built inside Premiere, with candidate clips and final arrangements shown in a more natural order. Subtitle file generation and import flow after Auto Edit have been polished. AI processing status messages are clearer when services are temporarily busy.

Clearer button labels and a single combined subtitle SRT

Cleaner button labels and tooltips across the web app — the node canvas "Send to Premiere" frame button now makes its purpose explicit. Subtitle SRT export was simplified into a single file: drag it once onto the Auto Edit output sequence and captions appear for both the original source region and the edited region. Cue boundaries are also more accurate at clip edges.

Stability improvements + subtitle SRT import

A round of stability improvements: the Run button responds the moment you click, parts of the cloud Auto Edit pipeline now run in parallel, and edit timing is more reliable on speech that previously fell back to lower precision. New optional setting after Auto Edit completes: import generated subtitles as an SRT into the Premiere project bin, ready to drag onto the timeline.

Refined in-edit display — readability and layout

Follow-up adjustments to the in-edit display added in v1.1.1. Commentary text now reveals one character at a time at a readable pace. Observations focus on sentence-level interpretation rather than surface-level metrics. The plugin panel layout has been tightened so the entire in-edit display fits within view.

In-edit AI commentary added

During the edit wait, the plugin now displays observations and remarks from the AI editors. Comments are generated from the transcript and the edit results, so the content reflects the actual source footage being processed.

shikomi.ai is now a platform hub for AI video prep tools, and the Premiere Pro AI rough cut product is now arahen, available at shikomi.ai/arahen. Old URLs redirect automatically. Plugin: frame-to-sequence creation and caption export reliably reach Premiere in Cloud Mode.

BYOK Unlimited reliably unblocks RUN

Pro users with both BYOK keys saved can now start an edit without hitting the monthly usage cap, and the RUN button now explains itself when it can't start.
